As a third-generation resident of Maywood, Aaron Peppers has lived and breathed the rich history of this community, witnessing its finest achievements, and preserving through its toughest challenges.
Being a son of working middle-class parents, Aaron Peppers began his career as a counselor with Methodist Youth Services. This is where he experienced how the lack of services and resources impacted our youth’s families as well as our communities. Aaron became a volunteer camp counselor and a football coach for the Maywood Park District, before becoming a Maywood Police Officer. This is where Aaron was able to establish his identity in assisting our youth with guidance and safety throughout the Village of Maywood.
Through his mentoring leadership, Aaron has assisted hundreds of student athletes in achieving their dreams of attending college. In addition, Aaron assisted our village in ridding it of crime for over 25 years as a police officer for Maywood Police Department from 1995-2020.
In 2021, Aaron was elected trustee for the Village of Maywood where he led as the Infrastructure & Sustainability Chairman efforts in solidifying Lakeshore Recyclable Services (LRS), in which the village saved 3 million dollars and provided our village with better recyclable services. Aaron also as the Chairman of Public Safety led the efforts with the police and fire departments in their efforts of solidifying training, equipment, and various resources to enhance our community safety needs.
Aaron through his nonprofit football organization JADSPEP with the assistance of
Amazon provides tutoring, instructional football, educational modules, and free meals for our youth in our community.
Aaron and his wife Shawn have lived in Maywood for 57 years and 30 years of marriage. Aaron and Shawn have raised three children Joshua, Ashanti, and Daliyah.
